HIV/STD and Adolescents Networking Committee

This statewide committee is for adults and youth. It is an opportunity to
network with professionals in youth serving agencies. Michelle White will be the presenter and talk about some of the outstanding things that the Jackson community has been doing to address teen pregnancy prevention! HPLS Host State Planning Committee

The National HIV Prevention Leadership Summit (HPLS) will be held in Detroit, MI, June 11-14, 2008.  The Host State Planning committee contact is Lisa Taton-Murphy at MDCH-HAPIS at 517- 241-5932 or tatonl@michigan.gov. 

The next meeting will be on Tuesday May 20, 2008 from 10-12 at Cadillac Place. Check at sign-in desk for meeting room.

African American AIDS Advisory Committee (A4C)

The African American AIDS Advisory Committee was formed to help eliminate the health disparities of HIV/AIDS among African Americans in Michigan. The A4C became standing committee of Michigan's HIV/AIDS Council in 2007. For more information contact Teresa Springer at Wellness Services, Inc.

2008 Meeting Dates:

March 20th, May 15th, September 18th, and November 13th. The meetings will be held in the afternoon following the MHAC meeting at the English Inn.

Program Review Panel

All materials (videos, pamphlets, books, etc.) that are used or distributed by HIV/AIDS service organizations funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide prevention education and counseling through the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) must be approved by the Program Review Panel (PRP). The approval of materials by the PRP is a requirement of the CDC. This panel is a made up of community members and is coordinated by the Division of HIV/AIDS-STD, MDCH.
