Michigan A4C - African American AIDS Advisory Committee

The African American Advisory Committee was formed to help eliminate the health disparities of HIV/AIDS among African Americans in Michigan. While only 14% of Michigan's population, Blacks represent 59% of prevalent HIV/AIDS cases in the state. (Please see the latest Statistics reflecting the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on this population.)

The A4C became standing committee of Michigan's HIV/AIDS Council in 2007. The Committee plans on accomplishing its mission through raising awareness and advocating for culturally competent policies and activities to address the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on African American communities.
